The 3.5-day PORi CORE: Pelvic Cancers and Lower Extremity Rehabilitation course instructs participants in the clinical skill sets and techniques needed to effectively deliver well-structured specialized oncology rehabilitation therapy to pelvic cancer patients in any phase of their cancer treatment and beyond. 

Examples of the types of cancer diagnoses that could be treated based on the clinical skills, and algorithms in this course are:

  • Gynecological Cancers (Ovarian, Uterine, Cervical, Vaginal, Vulvar)
  • Male Reproductive Cancers (Prostate, Testicular)
  • Urological Cancers (Kidney, Bladder)​
  • Integumentary (Anal, Melanoma)

The clinical skill sets and techniques instructed in PORi are based on integrated treatment models designed to include Myofascial Trigger Point Release, Joint Mobilization, Neural Mobilization, Visceral Mobilization Lymphatic Manual Drainage, Pain Mitigation, Bowel and Bladder Functional Restoration and Functional Movement Restoration. This course does not include internal (vaginal/rectal) techniques as those are reserved for an advanced pelvic floor dysfunction course. 

Location
LIVE-Virtual. Participants will need a computer with high-speed internet, audio and visual capabilities. Participants will receive a manual to support active learning throughout the course. Presentations will not be recorded though interaction is high encouraged to support participants' learning.

Thursday-Saturday 8:00am-6:00pm (Mountain Standard Time, MST)
Sunday 8:00am-2:30pm (MST)
*Breaks will be taken in the morning and afternoon along with an 1-hour break for lunch
